The story picks up after the events of the first film, where Kailash Nath, also known as Bhoothnath (played by Amitabh Bachchan), has moved on to the afterlife. However, upon arriving in the ghost world, Bhoothnath is ridiculed by other spirits for his failure to scare humans effectively, as he befriended a boy named Banku in the previous film.
Determined to redeem himself, Bhoothnath returns to Earth with the mission of frightening someone to prove his ghostly abilities. During his attempts, he encounters Akhrot (played by Parth Bhalerao), a street-smart and resourceful young boy who can see and communicate with him. Akhrot lives in a slum in Mumbai and makes a living by helping the local community.
Akhrot and Bhoothnath form an unlikely friendship, and instead of scaring people, Bhoothnath becomes involved in the lives of the slum dwellers. He learns about the corrupt local politician Bhau (played by Boman Irani), who exploits the poor and manipulates the electoral system for his own benefit.
Moved by the plight of the people and with Akhrot’s encouragement, Bhoothnath decides to challenge Bhau by running for public office himself, even though he is a ghost. With Akhrot s help, Bhoothnath launches an unconventional and humorous election campaign, raising awareness about the importance of voting and the power of the common man.
The film culminates in a dramatic and emotional confrontation between Bhoothnath and Bhau, where themes of justice, democracy, and social responsibility come to the forefront. Bhoothnath s journey inspires the people to stand up against corruption and fight for their rights.
